If you're searching for Sunland....
I have done so many internet searches on this topic that I have really lost track, which I guess is appropriate at this phase of my project. I've learned quite a bit about search methods and am becoming a fan of searching newspaper archives on line. While doing e-searches, I've found surprisingly few other entities that pop up because they share the name "Sunland", but have nothing to do with the Florida institutes. Here are my favorites:
The Sunland Tribune: a weekly newspaper published in Tampa from 1877-1883. The originals are held at the USF library.
Sunland, California: it's a city near Los Angeles.
Sunland retirement center in Mesa, Arizona. This seems to be a popular on line search.
And my favorite by far:
Come to My Sunland: the Letters of Julia Daniels Moseley from the Florida Frontier, 1882-1886. Published by the University Press of Florida. A fascinating book featuring letters to a friend back home after Mrs. Mosely moved from Elgin, Illinois, to the frontier land of Limona, Florida. In case you do not know where Limona is located, this wild and unsettled area chock full of wild animals is now known as: the west end of Brandon! If you don't believe me, well, do your own internet search.
